Our mission is to empower women to embrace their individuality and find their confidence and to live a life of big adventures and courageous choices. We value curiosity, travel and connection, and are always seeking to expand our view of the world. Our Story Before Grit & Grace, there was adventure. Our founder, Penny, spent six years living in Costa Rica, where she created a transformative adventure travel company called Live Life Light Adventures. When she returned to Canada for what was meant to be a visit, the world shut down, the travel industry came to a sudden halt, and she was forced to completely change course. After years of living in bathing suits and flip-flops, Penny found herself shopping for a wardrobe suited to Canadian weather. During that process, she became disappointed by the retail landscape available to women. She struggled to find unique, high-quality pieces in stores that felt welcoming, comfortable, and personal. So, in the middle of a global pandemic and out of equal parts frustration, determination, grit, and grace she decided to create the kind of store she had been searching for. Grit & Grace was founded to offer thoughtfully curated clothing for women just like Penny: women who want to feel confident, comfortable, and completely themselves. More than anything, she wanted to create a space where every woman would feel welcome from the moment she walked through the door. Our stores are designed to feel less like traditional retail spaces and more like the home of a great friend. That is why you will find cozy, living-room-style seating areas throughout our locations! places where we can slow down, gather, connect, and lift one another up. Because Grit & Grace has always been about more than clothing. It is about community, confidence, connection, and helping women feel their very best.
