Terms of Service

Welcome to Sauble Today. These terms are a plain-language agreement between you and Sauble Today, an Ontario-based business, about how you can use our website at saubletoday.ca.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Sauble Today, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

2. Business Listings

Sauble Today lists local businesses to help visitors discover Sauble Beach. Basic listings may be created by us based on publicly available information. Business owners can claim and manage their listing at no charge.

3. User Responsibilities

You agree not to misuse the site, scrape it, attempt to break its security, upload malicious content, impersonate others, or use it in ways that violate Canadian law.

4. Business Owner Responsibilities

If you claim or manage a business listing, you confirm that you're authorized to represent that business and that the information you provide is accurate. You're responsible for keeping hours, events, specials, and contact details up to date.

5. Visibility Credits

Visibility Credits are a prepaid balance used to book paid placements (Spotlight, Weekend Visibility, Featured Events, Featured Specials). Credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and are not redeemable for cash. Unused credits remain on your account and don't expire, but may be forfeited if your account is terminated for violating these terms.

6. Promotions & Featured Placements

Paid promotions run for the period they're booked for. We reserve the right to reject or remove promotional content that is misleading, unlawful, or otherwise inappropriate. If a promotion is rejected or cancelled by us before it runs, we'll refund the credits used.

7. Founding Partner Program

The Founding Partner program offers early supporters a bundle of benefits at a fixed price. Founding Partner benefits are described on the Founding Partner page at the time of purchase and are honored for the term stated there.

8. Stripe Payments

All payments are processed by Stripe. By paying, you agree to Stripe's terms in addition to ours. We don't store your card details.

9. Refunds & Cancellations

Digital goods (Visibility Credits, promotions that have already run, Founding Partner benefits that have already been delivered) are generally non-refundable. If a promotion hasn't started, you can cancel it and reclaim the credits. If a paid feature isn't delivered due to a fault on our side, we'll refund it. For any billing question, email hello@saubletoday.ca and we'll try to resolve it fairly.

10. Content Ownership & Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of content you upload (photos, logos, event descriptions, stories). By uploading, you grant Sauble Today a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, resize, and promote that content on the site and on our social channels for as long as the listing is active. The Sauble Today name, logo, and site design are our intellectual property.

11. Prohibited Content

You may not post content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, fraudulent, sexually explicit, misleading, or that infringes another person's rights. We may remove such content and terminate accounts that repeatedly violate this rule.

12. Account Suspension or Removal

We may suspend or remove accounts and listings that violate these terms, that appear to be abandoned, or that we're legally required to remove.

13. Limitation of Liability

Sauble Today is provided "as is." We do our best to keep information accurate, but we don't guarantee that listings, hours, events, or specials are error-free. To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months.

14. Changes to the Service

We may add, change, or remove features, and we may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll post the new version here with an updated date.

15. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of Ontario.
